PLANNING WATCH

This issue covers planning applications validated or decided between Friday 25 September and Thursday 1 October 2026. Every application the council's Planning Online portal shows as validated or decided in that window appears below, once, with a link to its own application page. Full entries are given where an application is a major, affects a listed building, changes a use, varies a condition of an earlier permission, or is otherwise of wider interest; every other application appears in the register. Neighbour consultation expiry dates are given where the portal shows them; comments are made via the portal link on each item.

6 SOANE STREET: CHANGE OF USE TO A DWELLING IN A LISTED BUILDING

FOUR APPLICATIONS RECORDED AS WITHDRAWN ON 30 SEPTEMBER

(Change of use; commercial development)

The portal records four applications as withdrawn on 30 September 2026 — three dating from 1999 and 2000 and one from 2022. The 1999 application sought enlargement of a food retail unit and revisions to the car park and access at Norsk Hydro Ltd, Sandyhill Lane (99/01047/FUL). The two 2000 applications were for a non-food retail park with a fast food drive-through at the former Volvo Concessionaires site, Raeburn Road South (00/00633/OUT), and a port assisting and town link road at land adjacent to Sandy Hill Lane, Landseer Road (00/00634/FUL); all three are in Gainsborough ward. The 2022 application was for change of use of the first floor of Unit 2, 16 Handford Cut, to a tattoo studio (22/00566/FUL), Gipping ward. The portal gives no reason for the withdrawals.
